This Sesame Tofu recipe is a combination of sweet, salty and slightly spicy flavors. By first pressing out the moisture, then tossing it with cornstarch and baking at high heat produces tofu that is the perfect crispy texture and will have you continue reaching for more.
First, cut the block of tofu into Combine all spices into 3 slabs. Then, place a kitchen towel on a large plate or sheet pan, top with tofu, then another towel and another plate or sheet pan. Place this stack in the refrigerator and weigh it with heavy objects for at least 30 minutes, and up to a few hours.
When you're ready to cook the tofu, preheat the oven to 450.
After the tofu has been pressed, cut it into cubes.
In a medium bowl, stir together the sesame oil, soy sauce, brown sugar and sriracha sauce. Add the tofu, gently stirring to coat. Sprinkle the cornstarch over the tofu and stir gently to coat.
Spread the coated tofu onto a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and bake at 450 for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through. Serve immediately once the tofu is done baking.
